BREAKING NEWS A Learjet 60 business jet went down shortly after 1 PM Eastern on November 1, 2026, in a mobile home park in Greenacres, Florida, in Palm Beach County, near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North. Authorities say there are multiple fatalities. Flight tracking data identifies the jet as N722BD. We don't know yet how many people were on board, whether anyone on the ground was hurt, where the jet took off from, where it was headed, or who was operating it. It's far too early to say why this happened. To everyone affected, we are so sorry. If you live nearby, please stay clear of the scene and the downed power lines.

Sunday, 1 November 2026, just before 12:48 p.m. A Learjet 60 on its way from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas is at 35,000 feet over Palm Beach County, Florida, in a storm. The pilot reports ice and asks to climb. Seconds later comes a mayday. In a little over a minute the jet falls more than 26,000 feet and crashes beside South Military Trail near Greenacres. All nine people on board are killed. This is that flight, told from the released air traffic control radio, the Flightradar24 track and the NTSB's first briefing, and what is still not known.

NTSB update, Monday 2 November 2026: maintenance records indicate a cockpit voice recorder was installed, but investigators do not yet know whether it was still on board. The NTSB also says it has "some evidence that there was some breakup of the aircraft before impact". The cause has not been determined.

Lindsay Clancy is expected back in a Plymouth courtroom Monday for a hearing that could determine whether she will face a second trial in the deaths of her three children. Judge William Sullivan is expected to hear arguments on the defense's motion to dismiss the case on double jeopardy grounds following September's mistrial, when jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Prosecutors are fighting the dismissal, arguing the mistrial was properly declared and that the Commonwealth should be allowed to pursue another trial. The judge will also consider several other outstanding motions, including a prosecution request to limit attorneys' public comments about the case.
